The 1,000th run/AGPU event:
- Dates: The long weekend of Friday, April 27th to Monday, April 30th (Monday is a DR holiday!), 2012!!
- Hotel: Wyndham Viva Palace Hotel, Bayahibe (near La Romana).
- More details: Will be shown on this website and our Facebook site.
- Registration: Details and registration form are being sent via e-mail - registrations and full payments MUST be received by February 29, 2012.
- Runs: Locations being considered include Altos de Chavon and Bayahibe areas.
- MMC & AGPU Committees: Are working together to organize all aspects of this auspicious event, in consultation with the experienced AGPU 2005 hashers! If you have ideas or want to participate - let Jon Fay or any member of your Mis-Management Committee / MMC know NOW!

AGPU 2011 was a great success, and we "took over" half of the Hotel "Paraiso Cano Hondo" - a world top rated "green"/eco-friendly" hotel located next to Parque de los Haitises, Sabana de la Mar - click here for the hotel website.
There were two runs - the so-called "Mickey Mouse" run!!, hared by Jon "Driving Miss Daisy" Fay & Dominique "Happy Hooker" Calderon on Friday afternoon, and the "BIG ONE in the park" run!!, hared by Pedro "Snake Charmer" Robiou (Grand Master - San Salvador CA/S2H3 kennel) & Udo "U-Done-it" Becker on Saturday afternoon. Both trails were "spectacular" to say the least, taking us on challenging vertical ups & downs, splashing across rivers, "squeezing" through caves, and "cruising" through the tropical fauna of the national park ("oodles" of insect repellant kept the mosquitos at bay - mostly!). The "Big One" run concluded with a return boat ride, including an amazing tour of a series of large caves with indigenous indian "Taino" petroglyphs!
There were many "ass on trail" incidents, and one hasher (Daisy "Virgin Whore") decided to do some clumsy acrobatics ("hung up by her finger" on a branch - ouch!!)! The "apres-run" circles of the down-downs "embibery", copiously officiated by the Hash Grand Masters of the Santo Domingo (Jon "Driving Miss Daisy" Fay) and San Salvador/ Central America (Pedro "Snake Charmer" Robiou) kennels, included the "baptisms" of Sandy (now "Rigor Mortis) Tedford, Kate (now "Wild Voyeur") Wallace, and Marie Lou (now "Waka Waka") Norton-Murray.
The AGPU wind-down (or maybe wind-up!) event on Saturday night was a "Shipwreck" costume theme with hashers dressed (or not?!) as they were when the "ship went down"! We presented a special "Golden Gumshoe" award to Pedro "Snake Charmer" for his support, great T-shirt design and the AGPU Blog (check it out at http://agpu2011.blogspot.com/!). Also. we said "Goodbye" to Randall "Bigger Than Mine" Scott and Carol "Xilakaga" Scott; and wished Happy Birthday with an "in-your-face" cake to Udo "U-Done-It" (flew in especially for the AGPU from Afghanistan!).

Grand Master Jon "Driving Miss Daisy" Fay will be leaving to retire in Florida around April 2012 - so a new Grand Master is needed?!?!
